Did you know? The cheapest and easiest way to prevent your skin from prematurely aging is to simply stay out of the sun! We’re sure this would be one of Pauley Perrette’s, NCIS’s Abby, skin care tips if she was in habit of handing them out! The popular actress, whose own personal skin care routine consists of washing her face with a good facial soap before applying baby oil each night, says she has made a point of staying out of the sun since her teens. And it’s paid off big time because she is noted for her beautiful creamy complexion. Nevertheless, this doesn’t prevent billions being spent each year on anti aging skin care products. A quick search online and in your local drugstore will find products that are designed to remove fine lines and wrinkles, get rid of age spots and prevent flaking, redness and itching. Products that would be largely superfluous if people would just heed one simple piece of advice. Stay out of the sun as much as possible and wear sunscreen if you are out in it! For Pauley Perrette Anti Aging Cream Off The Shopping List But You May Need ItWhilst the Pauley Perrette skin care routine is simple because she’s taken good care of her skin for most of her life, the good news for those that haven’t been quite so diligent is that it’s never too late to start looking after your skin. Well, whilst you’re still alive and kicking that is! Unfortunately, it probably won’t be quite as simple as Pauley’s routine though. For Pauley Perrette, anti aging cream may be off the shopping list but you could find yourself having to invest in some! In addition, we would strongly recommend that you get into the habit of doing some very simple things to help slow down your skin’s aging process and keep it healthy. Make Your Simple Pauley Perrette Skin Care Routine More EffectiveThe first thing you should do is ensure you wear protective clothing whenever you venture out into the sun. Particularly during the middle of the day as this is when those UV rays are at their most damaging. Good protective clothing includes shirts or tops with long sleeves worn with trousers or long skirts. Top it off with a wide brimmed hat that protects your neck, eyes, ears as well as the top of your head. Sunglasses with a 99 – 100% UV protection rating are also a good idea. Don’t be tempted to use artificial sun tanning methods like tanning beds and sunlamps. Research is increasingly showing that these are just as deadly as the UV rays from the sun you’re trying to avoid. And those ubiquitous tanning pills? Well they contain a color additive that has been approved for coloring foods. It has not been approved for putting in pills to turn your skin orange! And don’t be tempted by ‘tanning’ makeup either unless it has a clear and adequate SPF rating on the labelling specifying that it also doubles as a sun tan lotion. Speaking of sun tan lotions… Use one. Every time you go outside in the sun! The higher the SPF (sun protection factor) the more effective and longer lasting they are. An SPF rating of at least 15 or higher is best. It should also be broad spectrum, which means it will protect you against both UVA and UVB rays, and water-resistant. Carry a tube with you to reapply as often as you need to. We’ve already mentioned trying to stay out of the sun during the middle of the day when the sun’s rays are at their strongest and most damaging. Don’t be tempted to think cloud cover is adequate protection either! UV light can pass through clouds, and water as well incidentally. Be sure to keep a close watch on your skin. If you notice changes to the shape, feel or color of moles, spots and birthmarks get your doctor to check them out. If you’re fair skinned and in the ‘older’ age bracket, it’s recommended you have your skin checked at least once annually.
