Public Transport Safety in Bangladesh Using Vehicle Tracking System |

Road accident is the name of a new infliction these days, especially for Bangladesh. With the rapid growth of population, urbanization & the immense expansion of transport has made the situation even worse. The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared road injuries(traffic) as the eighth leading cause of death across the world and it is more dominant among young people within the age group of 15-30 years old. Over 1.25 million people lost their lives due to road accidents. In addition, approximately 25-50 million people experience accidents that are not deadly but cause economic loss to a greater extent. The majority of these traffic problems are acute in the underdevelopment & developing countries. In well-developed countries, the annual rate is 8.7 deaths per 1,00,000 population whereas in low & middle-class countries the rate is 18-20 deaths per 1,00,000 population. The report is shocking. Its consequences are not only physical but financial as well. In one report published by WHO, they addressed that nearly in every accident there are at least 20 people who suffered casual injuries. But the damage took a long time to heal. They had to go through high medication & treatments that caused a lot of money. Some of them are alive but handicapped. And most newspapers or publishers don’t address the not deadly injury reports. Otherwise, the list would have been much bigger. Most of the accidents caused by unskilled driving, damn caring for the traffic rules, not enough safety steps, etc. There is a lot of safety measures that have been taken until now by the government of Bangladesh. But none of those seemed to be quite fruitful concerning the issues. This type of casualties is totally not inevitable. Including all the existing safety rules, there are some digital methods that we can implement as well. Nowadays, GPS is a highly popular plan across the world. It is mainly a tracking device that can track nearly everything. In fact, the GPS system is not only confined within tracking anymore. You can manage, control and set rules according to your preferences as well. The GPS is used vastly in vehicle tracking because of its usefulness. It has been already proven that using a GPS tracking system for your personal vehicle is effective in so many aspects. Likewise, it can benefit the public transport authority & users in various ways. Let’s bring the usage & benefits of a vehicle tracking system for public transport safety into the light, Vehicle Tracking app monitors activities for public transports
GPS Tracking for vehicles can prevent accidents - Driver’s accountability: With GPS tracking software, you can access the driver’s time & attendance. It makes employees timesheet verifying easier and promote accountability. This tracking tool automatically computes work hours, kills mistakes and decreases formation time. Following up with the drivers always prevents the illegal practice of fleet vehicles. Because in countries like Bangladesh, there are a lot of people who are deprived of their basic education & work facilities. Under these circumstances, people involved in such works that don’t require any educational degree. And in this country, driving public transport is one of those works. This is why most of the drivers don’t have any literal experience or knowledge at all. It is one of the most governing reasons behind all the road accidents. You can deem the possibilities to happen something bad by using a digital tracking solution. In these GPS trackers, there are few features that help the driver to stay on the correct track. Whenever he wants to overtake dangerously or increase the speed on an extreme level, it sends alarms. Sometimes it shows proper direction & suggests action as per the traffic rules. This method prevents drivers from being aggressive on the road. It also reduces overtaking tendencies. - Speed Control: Some advanced systems allow you to control the speed of the vehicle from away. It is a useful feature when comes to preventing calamities.
Because all the road accidents occur due to usage of high speed on the road. The drivers are always in a hurry or as if they are participating in a race. They don’t even bother to check the public safety at all. In that case, a fleet manager can observe his(driver) activities in real-time. If the manager feels any unusual activities, he can immediately control the driver’s movement. As well as you can control the speed, your fuel consumption rate will decrease automatically. This works as a warning for the driver that he is being controlled by the authority. If he does anything wrong he will be punished for his deeds. It increases concern & they remain under control. - Emergency Support: GPS trackers have a unique feature of sending support in case of emergencies. If the transport breaks down in the middle of a remote place, you can ask help from your vehicle tracking system.
By tracking your location, the tracker software will send a rescue team. Or if the situation is not fatal, they will send an alternative transport medium. All-inclusive, public transports are important property of your country. These are our social assets too. We use public transport in our everyday life so that it should be taken care of. Anything wrong with these vehicles can directly hamper our social & national aspects. We should always stay concern about implementing new strategies for its betterment. There are hundreds of new ways that can be helpful and there are existing rules & regulations as well. But as our country is developing digitally, we always try to adopt time appropriate precautions. By observing the situations, in my opinion, GPS tracking is the easiest digital solution for public transport safety.
